We escaped to Seattle for the weekend, and while we forgot the camera (?!?), there were some magic moments, mostly regarding our stomachs: brunch at Crave (but dinner looks like it's worth returning for), and the Ballard farmer's market. It was pretty heart breaking for a girl like me to be at a market like that knowing I had to cross the border in a few hours, so I said no to the green garlic, the baby turnips the size of my thumb nail, the tomato seedlings, and the freshly foraged porcini mushrooms. But there were delicious tamales and a rhubarb sorbet so good I fairly wept with joy.

There were also a pair of Chie Mihara sandals from Lambs Ear, a jewel of a shoe store not worth missing even if it's just to fondle. I will be happy knowing they are on my feet as the the view of my toes really begins to disappear.
