when i stumbled upon dom robert i was actually looking for images of jean lurcat's tapestries, specifically le chant du monde (1957). charting a path through destruction, namely the atomic bomb and the apocolypse, and back into rebirth through nature, the imagery is pretty amazing, and so contemporary when linked to the crystals, skulls, butteflies and volcanos i keep seeing everwhere (or vice versa...?)

exhibited in hiroshima in 1999, the ten panels now hang in angers, france.
